Youth Speed, agility & quickness program

Teaching youth how to move like an athlete while having fun!

This 8-week in-person program is an introduction to Youth Speed, Agility & Quickness (SAQ) through individual and group drills. Children ages 5-12 years old will learn the fundamentals of SAQ in an active and teaming environment. Our experienced and certified coach will help position participants for success in any sport they choose to play.

2023 Program Kicks Off April 1st

Group H – Ages 5-6 – 9:00 – 9:50 a.m.

Group Y – Ages 7-9 – 10:00 – 10:50 a.m.

Group T – Ages 10-12 – 11:00 – 11:50 a.m.

Additional Program Information

  • Safety – for the safety of your child a parent/guardian must be present at all times
  • Nutrition – CHILDREN SHOULD EAT AT LEAST 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE SAQ SESSION TO ENSURE THEY HAVE MAXIMUM ENERGY
  • Hydration – PLEASE BRING A WATER BOTTLE TO HELP KEEP YOUR CHILD HYDRATED. WE WILL TAKE WATER BREAKS DURING THE SESSION AND RECOMMEND DRINKING PLENTY OF WATER BEFORE AND AFTER THE SAQ SESSION
  • Attire – T-SHIRT, SHORTS/SWEATPANTS AND CLEATS ARE RECOMMENDED
  • Arrival to the Field – PLEASE ARRIVE 5-10 MINUTES BEFORE THE SESSION BEGINS SO YOUR CHILD CAN SETTLE IN AND BE READY TO GO AT THE START OF THE SESSION

Teaching youth how to start moving like an athlete while focusing on sports speed progression and improvement to agility and quickness!

Often associated with core sports, speed, agility, and quickness training is all about precision conditioning and physically demanding activities. SAQ training provides a plethora of benefits for everyday fitness and conditioning, enabling optimum results.

At HYT, we believe every youth deserves the opportunity to develop athletic skills, and our in-person youth speed, agility, and quickness program is the perfect way to do it. We understand that developing the athletic skills and foundation of our youth is essential for their future success. That’s why we’re excited to offer our youth speed, agility & quickness program. This program aims to help young athletes develop the speed, agility and quickness needed to excel in their chosen sport. Our experienced and certified fitness coach will work with each youth participant to help them reach their full potential. In addition, our program is affordable and convenient, making it easy for families to get involved.

We have classified our in-person youth speed, agility, and quickness program into three age groups.

GROUP H – Ages 5 to 6

GROUP Y – Ages 7 to 9

GROUP T – Ages 10 to 12

Our Focus

We assist in the development of a strong foundation by understanding key concepts and skills that can be applied to any field or court sports. We aim to establish an athletic foundation for youth, help them implement basic skills they’ve learned in our program, and to use on the field or court.

Speed

Being the fastest on the field or court has its pros. Speed offsets strength and being one of the fastest on a team will automatically create demand for your child. Sports teams are always looking for speedsters to add to their rosters. A fast player can be a game-changer, and this program can help your child build that foundation and development into improving their speed.

Agility

Agility is the ability to change direction quickly while maintaining control of your body. It is a critical component of many sports, including baseball, basketball, football, hockey, and soccer. Agility is also important for everyday activities such as walking and climbing stairs.

Quickness

Being able to react quickly and change body position is an essential skill for any athlete. Quickness is the ability to produce maximum force in a short period, and it is a key factor in many sports. Our speed, agility, and quickness program is precisely developed to help kids progress at this important skill. The program includes various drills and exercises to improve reaction time and coordination.
